To manually import PayPal transactions firstly download the transactions in CSV format from your PayPal account. Import the gross transactions and fees. Re: How to Download Transaction History in New Site The old download history page is still available. But the interfaces are different for different account types and getting to the link/page is difficult than earlier.
By combining PayPal's Download History tool with QuickBooks' Import feature you can link data between the two platforms. PayPal's Download History tool can export your company's transactions directly to the IIF file format, which is natively compatible with QuickBooks. Exporting and importing bulk data between the two platforms in this way eliminates the need to manually enter relevant PayPal transactions into QuickBooks at the end of your financial reporting period.
Export PayPal Data
1.
Log in to your PayPal account and click the 'My Account' tab, if it's not already selected.
2.
Hover your mouse pointer over 'History' on the My Account menu and click 'Download History' to load the Download History page.
3.
Click the 'Custom Date Range' radio button and enter your desired date range. The date range you select dictates which transactions will be exported.
4.
Click the 'File Types for Download' drop-down menu and select 'Quickbooks (.iif).'
5.
Enter relevant account names in the provided fields, ensuring that you match them exactly to how they are spelled in QuickBooks.

Is there any particular reason you HAVE to use the REST API? I personally prefer the classic API's at this point because their REST API just doesn't have all the same features yet.
For your case, the classic API includes TransactionSearch and GetTransactionDetails which can help you pull history and details about specific transactions.
